Oberon, a 1910-style radio

Oberon is a radio prop for LARP that works. Plug in an old phone and it plays whatever you put on it.
The frame is curved plywood with a European walnut veneer. The front is spalted maple with a strip of walnut down the middle, and the back and base are korina, also known as white limba. The type plate and the knob are printed in brass-filled PLA.
Inside there’s a speaker and an amplifier, running from a power bank, and the knob on the front is the volume. Music comes in through a 3.5 mm jack, usually from an old phone playing Spotify.
The name comes from Oberon, king of the fairies, because of the wild patterns in the spalted maple. It’s also a nod to De Obol Corporatie, a company in the game it was made for.
